| County Cavan Golf Club was founded in 1894 and affiliated to the GUI five years later. It is situated in the heart of the lakeland district of County Cavan, which is a mecca for fishing enthusiasts. As well as the variety of mature trees which frame this attractive parkland layout, the club is famous for its’ many rhododendron bushes, dotted throughout the course. While pleasing to the eye, the foliage provides some tricky hazards for the hapless golfer. The 180 metre tenth is a favourite for many of the club members. This testing par 3 offers a challenging tee shot from in front of the clubhouse to an undulating green under the shadow of an ancient chestnut tree. The clubhouse itself provides a pleasant environment in which to relax after a game. | |
